This extensive remodel and addition was intended as a vertical hierarchy of spaces, leading from the bedrooms to the living spaces on the top floor, taking advantage of the sweeping city skyline beyond. A new three-story stair addition set against a glass curtain wall opens to the rear while the existing two-story roofline remains at the street front elevation. To bring daylight to each floor a series of skylights and shafts open the space vertically, including a 20’ tall bookshelves and shower.
