PIEDMONT II
Originally designed in 1944 by Clarence Mayhew, this historic home was no longer relevant for today’s lifestyles. Intent on honoring the original integrity, we carefully rebuilt the rear of the house to create a large kitchen/family room that flows to the rear yard. A new primary suite above takes full advantage of the wooded site and integrates over-scaled windows to create dramatic spaces full of natural light. The original materials and details were carefully studied and replicated to create a seamless transition between old and new.
